Privacy notice
Effective October 21st, 2026
Joey Tracker is made by Curtis Keller ("we"). This notice explains what the app keeps, where, and what you can do about it. Questions: support@joey-tracker.com.
In short: with no account, your records stay on your phone. With an account, they are kept on our service so your phones can share them. We do not sell them, show ads, run analytics or crash reporting, or use them for AI.
Using Joey Tracker with no account
If you choose Use on this phone, your records stay on your phone. Nothing about you, your child or your phone is sent to our service. The app goes online only when you open a help page, when you buy or restore the unlock through your app store, and to read a public status file about the service (see below); that read carries no identifier.
What the app keeps
| What | Examples | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your account | Email address, first name (family name optional), how you sign in (password, Google or Apple) | Our service, only if you create an account. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash. |
| Your child | Given name, birth date, and optionally sex and weeks born early | Your phone; also our service with an account |
| Care records | Feeds, pumping, sleep, diapers, toilet attempts, activities, temperatures, growth, medicines and doses, foods, milestones, contractions, notes, reminders and display settings | Your phone; also our service with an account |
| The unlock | Platform, product, purchase date and a one-way hash of the purchase id. No price, payment details or store email. | Our service, only with an account, so every phone of the account is unlocked |
| Phone-only state | The free trial, running timers, the last backup date | Your phone only, never sent |
Some of what you record, such as feeding, pumping, temperatures, medicines and contractions, is health information about you or your child. We use it only to keep it for you and show it back to you.
Why we keep it
- To provide the app: store your records, sync them between the phones signed in to your account, and restore them to a new phone.
- To answer you when you write to support.
- To check a purchase with Google Play or the App Store when the unlock is claimed for an account.
We do not use your records for advertising, profiling or marketing, and we do not sell them.
No AI, analytics, crash reporting or ads
- Joey Tracker has no AI features. No record is sent to a model service, and nothing you record is used to train, tune or evaluate a model. Every figure is worked out on your phone by fixed rules.
- The app contains no analytics or crash-reporting library and sends no usage, purchase or conversion events.
- There are no ads and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- Support messages are read by people.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that run Joey Tracker for us, under contracts that let them use the data only to provide that service:
- Supabase (on Amazon Web Services): hosting, database and sign-in, in the United States (US East).
- Resend: sending account emails such as the confirmation and password reset links.
- Cloudflare: hosting this website and the service status file, and forwarding email sent to our support address.
- Google (Gmail): receiving and storing the support emails you send us.
- Google and Apple: when you choose to sign in with them.
- Google Play and the App Store: handling your purchase, and confirming it when the unlock is claimed for an account.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
How it is protected
- On your phone, the records are kept in an encrypted database whose key stays in the phone's secure storage. The database is left out of the phone's own cloud backup.
- Between your phone and our service, traffic is encrypted (TLS 1.2 or later). On our service, data is encrypted at rest, backups included.
- Backup files you save can be locked with a passphrase. Nobody, us included, can open a locked file without it, and the passphrase is never stored or sent.
- Anyone signed in to the account, or holding a copy kept on a phone, can see all of its records. Share your sign-in only with people you trust with your child's records.
How long we keep it
- While your account exists, until you delete records, a child or the account.
- When you delete an entry, we keep a marker with no content so your other phones learn of it; the marker is removed within 90 days.
- When you delete your account, everything is gone from our service, including recovery copies, within 30 days. We keep only a record that a deletion took place, and when.
Your choices and rights
- See and export: everything is shown in the app, and Save a copy makes a readable file or a backup at any time.
- Correct: change any entry or child's details in the app.
- Delete: an entry, a child, everything on one phone, or the whole account, in the app. You can also ask us to delete your account without the app.
- Stop sharing: sign out on a phone, keeping a copy there or removing it.
Notifications and permissions
Reminders are scheduled on your phone and arrive with no connection; we send no push messages. On a locked phone they follow your phone's setting for hiding sensitive content. On Android the app asks to post notifications (when you first turn on a reminder), to set exact alarms so reminders arrive on time, and to run after a restart so reminders are set again. It does not use the camera, microphone, location, contacts or photos.
The service status file
From time to time the app reads a public file at
https://joey-tracker.com/.well-known/joey-service.json to learn whether the service is closing. The request sends
no account, device or personal identifier.
If the service closes
We will announce a closure at least 90 days ahead. The app keeps working on your phone with everything recorded. Within 30 days after the end, every record and sign-in on our service, including copies in backups, is deleted.
Children
Joey Tracker is meant for adult parents and caregivers. Children do not use it; the information about a child is entered by the caregiver.
Changes to this notice
If we change what the app keeps or who we share it with, we will update this notice and its date, and say so in the app before the change takes effect.
